The Nicaraguan Water Well Drilling Program  was started in 2000 by The Rotary Club of Tulsa and has a goal of providing potable water to the poor who live in the barrios of Nicaragua.  The program ‘s major support has come from The Rotary Club of Tulsa, The Rotary Foundation and other clubs within Rotary District #6110.  In addition, very important financial support has been received from Rotary clubs throughout the USA.

The Own-A-Well Program was conceived to provide a method whereby smaller clubs and individuals could participate in a viable International Project.

Each well costs $1000 to complete. We want you or your Rotary Club to “OWN” a well. By contributing $1000 for each well to be owned, you or the contributing Rotary Club will get a certificate suitable for framing along with the names and pictures of the well site you have helped to provide. We are encouraging one or more wells per Rotary Club to accomplish our goals.
