Chaired by Rotarian, Carl Vincent, the Rotary Club of Tulsa's Community Service Avenue focuses on improving the quality of life for citizens living within our communities. The Club's activities include promoting the welfare ofpeople in the community by providing assistance and support to those in need, improving the community's environment, and showing leadership through citizenship. |
Above & Beyond Service Awards

Plans the annual Above & Beyond Service Awards honoring Tulsa's police officer and firefighter of the year. Responsibilities cover a broad range from securing applications from the respective service groups to appointing the judges to arranging for the Rotary meeting program where the awards are presented to the honorees. Time Commitment: October - February |
Mike Chittom Park Development

In memory of Rotarian, Mike Chittom, who served as the Club's 'ambassador extraordinaire' to our adopt-a-school, Celia Clinton Elementary, this committee has planned the creation of a "Rotary Grove" in Chittom Park where individual Rotarians can plant trees to honor someone, or to call attention to a special occasion. Time Committment: As needed. |
Community Action Team

Provides hands-on support for our community's not-for-profit organizations as well as Rotary-specific projects. On a monthly basis, committee members visit one of our local organizations to work on fun, easy projects. The Community Action Team holds a committee meeting in July to discuss ideas for additional projects members might be interested in pursuing. Time Commitment: Varies depending upon who we are helping and their needs, but we try to schedule Saturday mornings. We also participate in the United Way Day of Caring. |
CLUB FOUNDATION DEVELOPMENT

Promotes growth in the Rotary Club of Tulsa Foundation, the Club's local foundation. Interest generated from this more than $2 million fund is used for chartiable grants, with more than $1 million given to Tulsa area charities since the fund's inception. Bequest opportunities will be offered to Club members as an investment for the fund. Time Commitment: not specific. |
CLUB FOUNDATION GRANTS

The Club Foundation Grants Committee reviews grant requests and recommends financial support for non-profit organizations in the Tulsa area. Every member of the committee is encouraged to participate in the review and approval process. Time Commitment: Monthly, year long with some off-site. |
Henry P. Iba Citizen Athlete Awards

In memory of his outstanding example, the Rotary Club of Tulsa established the Henry P. Iba Citizen Athlete Awards to honor exceptional performance by athletes, both in their sport and in their service to others. It is the hope of the Iba Awards to promote positive role models that capture the attention of today's young athletes. It is the one major fund-raiser for the Rotary Club of Tulsa Foundation. Time Commitment: all year. |
Salvation Army Bellringers

Coordinates volunteers to assist the Salvation Army for one day during the Holiday Season, staffing more than 16 kettle sites. Time Commitment: mid-October to early December. |
Up With Trees
