The Crescendo Music Awards Competition was founded by the Rotary Club of Tulsa in the spring of 1999. That year eleven high school and college students auditioned for a jury of six Rotarians. Three were called back to perform for the entire club.  Modest cash prizes were awarded.

In 2010 after the 12th competition, more than 760 students had auditioned and more thatn $300,000 had been awarded as cash prizes to extremely talented young musicians.

This year we are preparing for the 14th annual competition to be held March 22-24. The competition is divided into six collegiate and high school divisions. This year's competition includes collegiate voice, strings and piano, and high school voice, orchestral instrument and piano divisions. The competition will take place over the course of three days with preliminary rounds held on March 22, 23 and 24. The Finals Concert will be held at VanTrease Performing Arts Center for Education, Tulsa Community College, Southeast campus on the evening of March 24. Tickets are on sale now at $25/seat.
